Most installations involve a city and utility inspection before the system can be turned on or activated. This process is called “Activation” or “Permission to Operate (PTO)”. To get PTO typically requires coordination with the utility company through a process called Interconnection; the utility has to inspect the system to make sure it will function with their power grid as expected. Each utility company has its own process and timeline for completing these inspections. In some cases, they may even inspect the site without letting you or us know. Other utilities schedule the visit and require us to be present. In any case, if we know about it, we will keep you in the loop and if there are any issues with the inspection, we will handle them for you.
